Two items that have nothing to do with NYC nightlife, but you might have interest in....
1. Back when I was in college, I wrote a column for The Scarlet, the weekly newspaper at Clark University.
It was an absolute rush. Every Thursday, I'd walk into the cafeteria and see people reading "Guess Again," the name of my column (I went by John Guess then - long story). Most Clarkies were infuriated what they read - which, of course, was great for readership!
Why would people hate my column, you ask? Clark was a very politically correct school. If you ever saw the movie PCU in 1994, it was based on Wesleyan University in Connecticut, but in effect....PCU was (and probably still is) Clark. People just lived to get offended at Clark. You cannot imagine. By the way, I'd suggest PCU if you're a Netflix subscriber - it features Entourage's Jeremy Piven, who actually had less hair back then (hmmmmm....), a young Jon Favreau of Swinger's fame, and a musical appearance by George Clinton & the Parliament Funkadelic! Who probably 20% of my readers have heard of, and that's an absolute shame.
